SF is in the future...Day 2

This morning Hanako and I got coffee and croissants at La Boulange off Market. We took our snack to the Yerba Beuna Park. How hot the sun was for San Francisco! I wanted to look inside the Museum of Craft and Folk Art but it was closed. That was the beginning trend for half the places we wanted to see this week.

The terribly exposed photo above is of a bicycle symbol for the UC Berkeley bicycle coop, bicyCAL. They help fix your bike by making you do it yourself so you actually learn something. (And it's free!)

I came back from Berkeley and Hanako and I both got House Kombucha for the first time. I highly recommend it. It comes in all sorts of unusual flavors like Lavender Green and Vanilla Orchid-Root. Though the flavor is mild the bottle is sweet. House supports the local economy and environment by donating money to a cause every time you return a bottle for reuse.

Lastly, we walked around the upper Haight. Of course the best Thai place on the block, Ploy II, was closed (every Monday). So we settled for "Best of Thai Noodle" which turned out to be the worst experience of the trip. Don't ever trust a place that has a self-praising title.
